Frankfurt’s floundering European push needs a boost

Frankfurt felt the pain of being overtaken in the race for Europe last time out as Leverkusen defeated them to extend the Eagles’ winless run of league games to six. However, Frankfurt may not mind too much as they have a DFB-Pokal semi-final on the horizon and the immediate opportunity to bounce back with three points here.

A home return must be seen as a boon for Frankfurt after posting their longest winless run of away league games in five years. Incidentally, only one side has managed to defeat Frankfurt on their own patch since November 2022 and they’ll hope to keep that solid form alive as they welcome a Monchengladbach side with little to play for.
