Elche underestimated against hapless travellers

Only Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have clinched all three points in Elche’s last eight home starts and Fran Escriba’s side are fancied to oust dismal travellers Alaves at Estadio Martinez Valero this week.

Elche have secured three wins and three draws here in between those defeats against Barca and the league leaders, so the 2/1 for a home success this Tuesday surely has to be snapped up.

With 16^th placed Alaves just two points ahead of them going into this contest, Elche know that a win will lift them out of the relegation zone and confidence should be high based on their home results and 0-2 victory at Mendizorroza in October’s reverse fixture.

Conversely, Alaves will be feeling all the pressure in this one as they have a huge target on their backs.
