England vs Greece Predictions
- England are unbeaten in nine meetings with Greece – winning seven times
- The Three Lions have won six of their nine meetings with Greece without conceding
- England have won 2-0 in each of their two Nations League matches this season
Three Lions to continue serene progress
England have started life after Gareth Southgate in serene fashion with a couple of 2-0 wins being garnered under interim head coach Lee Carsley in the Nations League.
The competition picks up again this week, and Carsley gets the chance to continue his audition to get the job on a permanent basis with further fixtures against Greece and Finland, and his case should be strengthened by two more comfortable victories.
Up first is a visit from the Greeks at Wembley on Thursday, and it will be the first time the nations have met since 2006. On that occasion the Three Lions ran out 4-0 winners and they have never lost in nine meetings with Greece, winning seven times, six of those without conceding.
The two draws between these nations finished 2-2 and 0-0 so backing an England win to nil is our prediction this week.
Greeks are no pushovers
Greece have started their Nations League campaign with wins over Ireland (2-0) and Finland (3-0), so arrive in London in decent form and they won’t be easy pushovers for Carsley’s side.
However, this is a huge step in class for Ivan Jovanovic’s side compared to recent opponents and a 2-0 England win looks a solid option for correct score punters.
Carsley has brought a more positive approach to England’s play and he has an abundance of talent at his disposal in attacking areas.
Harry Kane, Cole Palmer, Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden are all in good form so we predict a comfortable 2-0 home at Wembley this week.
