Tromso vs Brighton Predictions
- Tromso lost to Czech opponents in Europa League qualifying
- Brighton have three pre-season wins against quality opponents
- Tromso have three defeats in their last six games
Brighton can take commanding lead
Brighton head to Tromso for the first leg of their Conference League play-off on Thursday and the Seagulls look well placed to win the tie.
Tromso dropped down into this competition after losing out to Czech outfit Hradec Kralove in Europa League qualifying, and Brighton represent a significant step up in class.
This is Albion’s first game of the new season and that is a slight concern but they have played quality opponents in pre-season, beating Strasbourg, Roma and Bologna.
There is an obvious gulf in quality between these sides as Tromso currently sit third in Norway’s Eliteserien and Brighton finished eighth in the Premier League last season – just seven points adrift of the Champions League places.
If Brighton are on form they can win comfortably and cover a -1 handicap. Fabian Hürzeler’s side have scored eight goals across their three pre-season games and should be strong enough at the back to keep Tromso quiet, so a 3-0 win for the visitors is the correct score prediction.
