Rangers and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Rangers picked up their first win under Derek McInnes at the weekend and they can use that momentum to seize the advantage against Jablonec. A win feels vital for the Gers if they are to reach the main draw due to their poor road record in Europe and they should have the quality to beat the Czech visitors, but they may concede in the process. Jablonec are yet to draw a blank this season and Rangers haven’t kept a clean sheet.

Rangers 3-1

Reason for tip

Rangers were unlucky to only draw 1-1 at Ibrox in Europa League qualifying with Jagiellonia as they created enough chances to win and a similar level of performance should see them run out fairly comfortable winners against Jablonec, so a 3-1 home win has a chance.

Rangers vs FK Jablonec Predictions

  • Rangers are on a three-game unbeaten run at home in Europe (W1, D2)
  • Both teams have scored in all five of Rangers’ games this season
  • Jablonec have scored in all six of their games

Last chance for Europe for Gers

Rangers fell short in their bid for a Europa League spot but can still secure European football by reaching the Conference League.

The Glasgow giants host Czech outfit Jablonec on Thursday and this feels like a must-win game when taking into account their struggles on the road in Europe, having lost each of their last seven European away games.

New boss Derek McInnes claimed his first win since taking charge at the fifth time of asking against St Mirren at the weekend and that should give Rangers a platform to build on. Prior to that, performances haven’t been as bad as results suggest either and they should be able to take a lead back to Jablonec nad Nisou for the return leg.

Rangers are unbeaten in three at home in Europe stretching back to the league phase of the Europa League last term. The hosts are the clear favourites to win so the best angle looks to be backing them to win and concede, as Rangers are yet to keep a clean sheet this term and Jablonec have scored in all of their games.

Rangers were unlucky to only draw 1-1 at Ibrox in Europa League qualifying with Jagiellonia as they created enough chances to win and a similar level of performance should see them run out fairly comfortable winners against Jablonec, so a 3-1 home win seems a reasonable correct score prediction.

Lawrence Shankland opened his Rangers account against Jagiellonia and will be on penalty duties on Thursday. He should come into the game fairly fresh after being used sparingly against St Mirren and he stands out as a strong option for an anytime goal.
