Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

The goals have rarely flowed freely for England under Thomas Tuchel and Wales pose a tough test defensively. The Dragons have seen fewer than three goals in three of their last four away games, and they have failed to score in six of their last seven meetings with England.

England 1-0

Reason for tip

England have won five of their last six games and have kept a clean sheet in each of these victories. They have beaten Wales seven times on the spin and kept a clean sheet in six of those. Two ended 1-0, while Wales lost by the same scoreline against Canada last time out.

Harry Kane To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Harry Kane has been in sensational form this season, scoring 19 goals in 12 games for club and country. His goal against Serbia in the last international break sparked an ongoing seven-game scoring streak in which he has notched 13 times in total.

England vs Wales Predictions

  • Three of Wales’ last four away games have gone under 2.5 goals.
  • Harry Kane has scored 19 goals in 12 games for club and country this season.

Kane to make the difference

Thomas Tuchel has made the bold decision to drop some high-profile players for his latest England squad, and that decision may pay off in what could be a tight affair with Wales.

The Three Lions maintained their perfect start to the World Cup qualifying campaign with a 5-0 drubbing of Serbia last month but, despite that result, the goals have not flowed freely under the German manager.

Wales fell to their second defeat in three games as they were beaten 1-0 by Canada in September, and Craig Bellamy’s side have also found goals hard to come by at times.

Three of the Dragons’ last four away games have featured fewer than three goals and, with England only scoring three goals in their last two home games against Andorra and Senegal, backing under 2.5 goals appeals.

Tuchel’s men should have won their last seven meetings with Wales and have kept clean sheets in six of them. Two have ended 1-0, and a repeat of the 1-0 reverse Wales suffered against Canada may be on the cards.

Harry Kane’s sensational season continued at the weekend with a goal against Eintracht Frankfurt, taking his tally to 19 goals for club and country this season. He has scored at least once in seven successive games and looks the best option for anytime goalscorer punters.
