      Everton vs Manchester City Predictions

Everton’s 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday was by no means a poor result, but it was typical of an Everton side struggling to pick up a win at the moment.

Their attacking play is undoubtedly excellent at times, and the attacking trio of Romelu Lukaku, Gerard Deulofeu, and Ross Barkley are a force to be reckoned with.

However, they are still struggling to take full advantage of this talented young trio’s excellent form. They have only won one of their last six games in all competitions despite scoring in every one of them.

This failure to win has brought Roberto Martinez under some unexpected pressure from the Everton fans, but I’m sure that a semi final Capital One Cup victory over Manchester City would quell the minor protests against him.

But a win against Manchester City won’t exactly be easy. The visitors ended their five match winless run away from home on Saturday when they scored two in quick succession to come from behind against the in form home side.

This, plus the fact Sergio Aguero ended his own five match goalless run, will have breathed life back into Manchester City.

They aren’t in bad form overall either, having won four of their last six in all competitions and scored 13 on the way.

They, like Everton, are struggling at the back though. The absence of Vincent Kompany has meant they have conceded in ten of their last eleven matches in all competitions and have had to rely on outscoring the opposition to pick up wins.

Everton have only kept three clean sheets in their last 17 outings, and I don’t fancy their chances against the Manchester City attack that have scored in five of their last six. Likewise, I don’t think Manchester City will keep a clean sheet either.

This makes odds of 4/7 for Both Teams to Score look good value to me, and I’m also backing a 2-1 Manchester City win at 15/2.
