FC Copenhagen vs Silkeborg IF Predictions

FCK can make home advantage count

FC Copenhagen come up against Silkeborg in Denmark’s Superliga on Sunday as they look to kickstart their title bid.

The Byens Hold finished just six points adrift of champions Brondby last season and will feel they have a chance to take the top prize this year, but were held to a 2-2 draw by Aalborg in the first round of fixtures as they had to play out the final 20 minutes or so with 10-men after Nicolai Boilesen’s red card. 

Silkeborg also had to settle for a point in their opener as they were held to a goalless stalemate by Sonderjyske.  SIF did dominate that game, enjoying 67% of the possession, but they lacked a cutting edge and managed to get just one of their 14 attempts on target.

FC Copenhagen were involved in Europa Conference League qualifying in midweek as they thrashed Belarusian outfit Zhodino 4-1 in Denmark and they should be able to record their first domestic win of the campaign when Silkeborg visit on Sunday.

FCK had an impressive home record last season with nine wins in 16 league games and after making an unbeaten start this term should be too strong for Silkeborg on Sunday.

FC Copenhagen have scored at least three goals in three of their last five home games but have conceded in all of those matches, and taking that into account a 3-1 home win is an option in the correct score market.
