FC Dallas vs Toronto FC Predictions

Dallas have three more points on the board than their weekend guests Toronto and occupy fifth spot in the Western Conference but Toronto, who lie seventh in the Eastern Conference, have played one game fewer and have a better goal difference.

Dallas were knocked out of the US Open Cup in midweek despite having the home advantage against New Mexico United. The hosts took the lead late in the first half through Servania but, on the stroke of halftime, New Mexico United equalised. Dallas’ decision to rest a few key players backfired in the second half when New Mexico United scored the winning goal in the sixty-fourth minute. Toronto went behind at home to Sporting KC in their last game on the 8th June when Gutiérrez converted a penalty but De Leon equalised for the hosts shortly before the break. Another Gutiérrez penalty saw Sporting KC retake the lead in the seventy-third minute but Hamilton rescued a point for Toronto deep into stoppage time.

The recent head to head record between these two clubs and both teams performances over the last six matches, all point towards both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals being scored on Sunday, with Dallas pinching all three points. Four of the last six meetings between these two clubs have seen both teams score and over 2.5 goals and Dallas have won four of their last five meetings. Both teams scored and over 2.5 goals were produced in four of Dallas’ last five and three of Toronto’s last six matches. Toronto are without a win in their last seven MLS games, which is why we’re backing a 2-1 win for Dallas this weekend.

Ferreira top scores for Dallas this season with four goals in the MLS, while Altidore and Pozuelo joint top score for Toronto with five goals but the American is away on international duty. We’re confident that both teams will score and over 2.5 goals will be produced in Sunday’s game and have predicted a 2-1 win for Dallas. Dallas have a good recent record against Toronto and both teams have been involved in a high number of games that have seen both teams score and over 2.5 goals in recent weeks.
