FC Den Bosch vs FC Dordrecht Predictions
Things are starting to look bright for Den Bosch after comfortable wins against Jong AZ and MVV in the past fortnight, and The Blue White Dragons are up to 9th in the Eerste Divisie standings as a result. Wil Boessen’s men are just two points off the Play-off places heading into match day nine, and they’ll be confident of making further progress when they entertain bottom side Dordrecht at Stadion de Vliert.
Last week’s fixture at De Geusselt between MVV and Den Bosch was expected to be a closely run affair, however The Blue White Dragons wrapped up the points inside of 50 minutes thanks to goals from Stefano Beltrame, Sven Blummel and Rauno Sappinen.
It was an impressive performance from Wil Boessen’s men to match their effort in a 3-1 home victory against Jong AZ the week prior, and Den Bosch’s sound recent form has lifted them into the top half, eight games into the campaign.
Den Bosch will need to improve their overall record at Stadion de Vliert if they are to aim high this term with just four points from a possible 12 collected at home, but this Friday’s encounter with bottom side Dordrecht gives them an immediate opportunity to do just that. with the visitors pointless on the road this season from four outings.
Dordrecht had endured a miserable start to the campaign with just one draw earned from their first seven matches; however they pulled off a shock 3-1 success at home to high flying Cambuur last week with Greek striker Savvas Mourgos bagging a brace.
The result wasn’t enough to lift Gerard de Nooijer’s side from the foot of the table, but it did bring them to within one point of FC Eindhoven, Helmond Sport and Jong Utrecht.
There will undoubtedly be a new belief in the Dordrecht ranks after breaking their winless run in style, but it would be a huge surprise were they to follow up on match day nine in s-Hertogenbosch.
Den Bosch have won five of the last six meetings between the teams, including a 4-1 victory here last season, and after scoring six goals in their last two games, the hosts will fancy their chances of making hay against a Dordrecht defence that’s leaked 11 goals in four away matches.
Den Bosch are odds-on for this fixture, but their price is more than fair considering their recent dominance over Dordrecht and strong form. We’re backing the hosts to land the points here in s-Hertogenbosch and record a 3-1 win.
