FC Den Bosch vs FC Oss Predictions

Eerste Divisie leaders Den Bosch made a mockery of their odds-against status on match day 20, as The Blue White Dragons kick-started the New Year with an explosive 2-6 success at Dordrecht. They wrapped up the Period 2 table and edged a further point clear at the top of the main standings with Twente now their nearest pursuers, and they’ll be seeking to consolidate that advantage at the very least when they entertain 6th placed Oss at Stadion De Vliert this Friday evening.

The bookmakers were clearly a little sceptical about whether Den Bosch could hit the ground running on the back of the Christmas break, but Wil Boessen’s side quashed any doubts emphatically at Riwal Hoogwerkers Stadion last Sunday.

The league leaders smashed six past struggling Dordrecht as Finnish centre-back Leo Valsanen waded in with a brace, to extend their unbeaten run to 14 games and their advantage at the top of the table to two points from Twente, who leapfrogged Sparta Rotterdam and Go Ahead Eagles into 2nd courtesy of a cosy 0-2 win at MVV.

Den Bosch have landed 11 victories in that period to storm clear at the head of affairs, and they’re certainly going to take some beating this term as they look to return to the top flight after a 14 year absence. There’s obviously a long way to go with 18 matches still to play, but The Blue White Dragons will have promotion sewn up some way out if they maintain their marvellous win ratio.

Boessen’s charges have been victorious in six of their last seven outings in s-Hertogenbosch, and it will be certainly be a daunting trip to Stadion De Vliert this weekend for visitors Oss.

Klaas Wels’ team have been excellent on the road this season with six wins and two draws accrued from their ten games, but morale in the Oss camp will be extremely low after they were turned over 1-2 by RKC at Frans Heesen Stadion last week.

Oss took the lead in that game against 12th placed Waalwijk which will make the reversal even harder to swallow, and TOP are now nine points behind Den Bosch heading into this Friday’s clash. Defeat for them here will extend that gap to 12 and undoubtedly end any faint title aspirations harboured by Wels’ side, who must now surely focus on securing a Play-off place.

A goal from Oussama Bouyaghlafen was the difference between these teams in October’s reverse fixture as Den Bosch ran out 0-1 winners, and we anticipate a similar result this time around with the hosts unopposable at present from a betting point of view.

It will likely take a better side than Oss to halt Den Bosch’s current momentum, and the visitors will be especially vulnerable following last week’s events. Den Bosch will be pressed to record a hiding similar to that dished out at Dordrecht a few days ago, but we’re confident they’ll cover a one goal handicap and 3-0 is worth chancing in the correct score market.
