FC Den Bosch vs PSV Reserves Predictions

Den Bosch put up an improved showing against Twente on Friday; however the Blue White Dragons went down 1-0 to the Eerste Divisie leaders at De Grolsch Veste to post their third successive league defeat. It’s now just one win in eleven for Wil Boessen’s side who have dropped to 5th following Jong PSV’s 2-1 success against RKC on match day 31, but they do have the chance to wrestle back 4th place from the Eindhoven reserves when the two sides meet at Stadion De Vliert on Monday.

The saving grace for Den Bosch amidst their poor run of results is that a Play-off berth is already guaranteed – their seven point buffer over 10th placed MVV will likely be enough anyway to see them home in the top nine however entry is secured after topping the Period 2 table.

If a team is to have a severe slump, it’s certainly better to get it out of the way before the promotion shoot-out in May where Den Bosch could be a force if they rediscover the kind of form that saw them go 16 matches unbeaten earlier in the campaign.

Friday night’s clash against leaders Twente didn’t quite spark a revival for The Blue White Dragons, but they did perform much better than in recent weeks at De Grolsch Veste to only go down by the narrowest of margins.

They face another difficult test here though against Dennis Haar’s Jong PSV who leapfrogged them into 4th on match day 31 with a 2-1 success at home to RKC.

Top scorers in Eerste Divisie this season until Friday night with 66 goals scored, Jong were hardly at their free flowing best at De Herdgang and had to survive a late penalty scare to bag the points, but the result got them firmly back on course after a couple of disappointing away results against Cambuur (3-1) and Jong AZ (0-0).

Jong do have a mixed record on the road this term with six wins, five draws and four defeats posted from 15 outings, and it’s definitely worth noting here that four of those victories have been against teams currently in the bottom six.

So it’s perhaps best to swerve the visitors for this contest, especially as Den Bosch ran out 0-2 winners in November’s reverse fixture.

We’re equally reluctant to support Den Bosch though with the hosts struggling for results and it could be that this one ends up all-square.

There’s little between the teams in the table as we know and a draw would probably be considered a fair result for both sides. With Den Bosch likely to try and keep things tight as they look to restore confidence and Jong PSV’s goal scoring prowess taking a slight dip of late, 1-1 makes appeal in the correct score market.
