Go for goals at Fener host Maribor

Fenerbahce entertain Maribor of Slovenia in the first leg of a Europa Conference League qualifier on Thursday.

Unsurprisingly, the Turkish heavyweights are the short price favourites to win so looking at the goals markets is perhaps the best way to approach this European tie.

Fener strong in attack

Fenerbahce overcame Moldovan outfit Zimbru 9-0 on aggregate in the previous round, winning 5-0 at home and 4-0 away, as they have picked up where they left off last season.

The Istanbul giants have seen over 3.5 goals land in five of their last nine home games and they have scored at least three goals themselves in five of their last six at this venue.

Maribor are clear underdogs but may be capable of adding to the goals tally themselves as they have scored in all six of their games this season, hitting 12 goals in total, so these sides should be able to combine for at least four goals in total.

Hosts can win comfortably

Maribor should provide a bigger test than Zimbru did but Fener should still be able to win fairly convincingly and a 4-1 win for the hosts is the correct score prediction.

Michy Batshuayi struck twice in the 4-0 win in Moldova after managing 17 goals in 24 games for Fenerbahce last season, so the Belgian attacker looks a good option to score at anytime on Thursday.
