Celtic can keep knockout stage hopes alive

Celtic have hit form ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash with Ferencvaros and at odds against the Hoops look worth backing in this fixture.

The Bhoys, who have five wins and a draw in their last six games, won the first meeting 2-0 at Parkhead and were thoroughly dominant in front of their own fans.  This meeting in Hungary won’t be as easy for the Glasgow outfit, but the manner of their victory in the first meeting and their recent away form suggests they can get the job done.  Celtic initially struggled for results on the road under Ange Postecoglou but have won their last three away games and they beat a good Hibernian outfit 3-1 in their last trip.

There is a lot to like about this Ferencvaros side but they have fallen short at home in Europe in their last two games, losing to Young Boys in Champions League qualifying and Real Betis in the Europa League.  The Budapest club are winless in their last three home games (D1, L2) and have lost all three of their group stages games so far. and with Celtic in form could be heading for another defeat here.

Celtic have only managed one clean sheet in 10 away games in all competitions this season and with Ferencvaros in desperate need of a result this could be a close game, so a 2-1 win for the visitors looks a good option in the correct score market.
