Finn Harps vs St Patricks Predictions
- Finn Harps failed to win 17 of their opening 19 league games.
- St Patrick’s scored at least twice in three of their last four visits to Finn Harps.
- Finn Harps boss Ollie Horgan failed to win 15 of his 20 meetings with St Pat’s.
Relegation looms for Finn Harps
Even with so many points left to play for, the gap to safety for Finn Harps is a yawning ten points ahead of the round. As such, a reversal of the awful form shown across the opening 19 rounds (W2, D5, L12) needs to happen sooner rather than later if they are to have any chance of avoiding the drop.
This game is no easy task though as home boss Ollie Horgan well knows, Horgan failed to win 15 of his 20 personal meetings with St Patrick’s (W5, D3, L12) while also failing to win eight of his 12 all time meetings with his opposite number Tim Clancy (W4, D3, L5).
The value lies with the visitors
In stark contrast to their hosts, St Patrick’s are flying in fourth place ahead of this round and with European qualification a real possibility this season, there is no reason that they won’t be going for the three points here.
Visiting boss Clancy saw his side on the day keep clean sheets in four of the last five personal clashes with Finn Harps (W4, D1), so he will surely attempt to impart some of that positive experience on his St Pat’s side as they seek a third win in four games.
Making a case for a home win seems like a mammoth task, so we predict that the visitors will come out on top in this encounter and at a brilliant price to boot. Above evens for a European chasing side against a team who look doomed to the drop must be seen as value. Moreover, we are going for a small stakes play on a 2-0 away win, one which will continue the theme of managerial H2H clean sheets.
