Lazio to edge high-scoring contest
A run of seven wins across their last eight Serie A games has propelled Lazio back into the race for a top-four finish.
The goals have also been flowing for Simone Inzaghi’s side of late, as no team has scored more across the last six games in Serie A than I Biancocelesti’s total of 17.
Lazio have also scored in 13 of their last 14 away matches in the division, but they are also suspect defensively, with a total of 25 goals having been netted across their previous four games – 14 for and 11 against.
Fiorentina have also been involved in some high-scoring matches of late, with over 3.5 having been netted in six of their previous nine games.
Three of Fiorentina’s last four matches at the Stadio Artemio Franchi have also seen over 3.5 goals scored, while La Viola have only failed to score once in their previous nine league fixtures at the venue.
Both teams will also have plenty of attacking options on display, with only Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku having scored more Serie A goals this season than Lazio forward Ciro Immobile and rising Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic, who both have 19.
All the evidence certainly points to a high-scoring contest on Saturday, and we are predicting over 3.5 goals to be scored, with our overall prediction being for Lazio to edge a five-goal thriller 3-2.
