The group stages are in sight

The third qualifying round for the Champions League group stages gets underway as Qarabag welcome Ferencvaros to their adopted home of Baku. They have already beaten the likes of Lech Poznan and FC Zurich and will feel confident that they can achieve a positive first leg result against their Hungarian opponents. The Azerbaijan domestic season is yet to get underway and so an element of rustiness and a lack of fitness could prove key to deciding this one.

The visitors have made life difficult for themselves having lost both first leg fixtures of their previous two qualifiers. They were however recently victorious over Puskas academy and that result will have done wonders for their confidence. Despite that, their away form has been exceptional and they have not tasted defeat in 13 successive road matches.
