Mainz hoping for a miracle on Tuesday
Mainz host Wolfsburg this Tuesday and will be hoping to pick up a vital three points as they try and stave off relegation to 2. Bundesliga.
The home side have had a woeful season, winning just once and losing 11 of their 16 games so far this season. They’ve struggled increasingly as the season has gone on and have picked up two pints from their last six games, meaning they have only avoided being bottom of the league sure to their better goal difference.
Wolfsburg sit in sixth place but they’ve struggled in recent weeks with just two wins in six. They’ve been able to find the net well during this time, scoring eight times but their defensive capabilities are being tested with nine goals conceded in that time.
Wolfsburg are quite fortunate to be coming into this game, one they are expected to win easily, as it should serve to build confidence before a trickier run of form. It’s hard to see Mainz taking anything anything from this game and we are backing the visitors to win this game to nil.
Wolfsburg’s goalscoring record has been good, the side have averaged 1.5 goals per game this season and we’re backing them to continue this good run of goalscoring form with a 2-0 win over a lowly Mainz side.
