Fulham vs Bristol City Predictions

Fulham finding their shooting boots again

Fulham appear to have ridden out their December wobble and should maintain their pursuit of leaders Bournemouth with a convincing home win over Bristol City on Saturday.

The Cottagers ended a five-game winless sequence in the league emphatically as Marco Silva’s men thrashed Reading 7-0 at their own ground in midweek. The Football League’s highest scorers had managed to find the net just three times in that five-game run in which they ceded the summit to the Cherries, but they are now the hunters and Bournemouth the prey.

It certainly looked like normal service had been resumed at Reading, who had two goals disallowed themselves. No team in the division comes close to Fulham’s average of 3.21 goals per game and nearly 40 per cent of their games have featured over 3.5.

Robins must watch out for Wilson   

Harry Wilson, fresh off a two-goal, two-assist run out over 76 minutes, looks worthy of support in the anytime scorer market this weekend. The Welsh winger also scored the extra-time winner against Bristol City when Fulham edged their third-round meeting last weekend.

The xG numbers from their 1-1 league draw at Ashton Gare in September also suggest goals are on the cards this weekend as both teams finished with identical values of 2.33, according to Opta.

But we have to recommend backing Fulham to win too as Bristol City have taken just one point from their last five away trips. Fulham to win and over 3.5 goals is the play here and a 4-0 correct score bet could also turn profit if Wilson and leading Championship scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic pick up where they left off in Berkshire on Tuesday.
