Fulham vs Sheffield United Predictions
- Sky Sports Main Event
- Sheffield United have lost ten of their 12 Premier League away games this season.
- Fulham have only lost one of their last six league matches.
- Sheffield United are the league’s lowest scorers and have failed to find the net in four of their last five trips.
Fulham showing signs of improvement
A double from Josh Maja helped Fulham to a shock 2-0 win at Goodison Park last weekend, and while they couldn’t maintain that momentum at Turf Moor in midweek they should be able to use that as a springboard when they face the dire Sheffield United on Saturday.
The Cottagers may find themselves six points adrift of safety but there have been signs of improvement over the last couple of months and they have actually only lost one of their last six league outings.
Admittedly only one of these has ended in victory, but their performances have warranted more and they should have more than enough quality to deal with the Blades.
Blades return to losing ways
Sheffield United fell to another defeat last time out and remain rock bottom of the table with just 11 points to their name.
Only four of these points have come away from home, with their surprise victory at Old Trafford remaining their sole away day victory of the season. Ten of the remaining 11 trips have ended in defeat and the lowest scorers in the league have failed to score in four of their last five on the road.
Cottagers tipped to strengthen relegation position
With Sheffield United’s brief resurgence seemingly over after losing three of their last four games, backing the Cottagers to take all three points looks a solid value choice considering their improvements.
We’re also expecting a clean sheet for the hosts after conceding just one goal in their last three games, and a tight 1-0 correct score prediction appeals.
Fulham injuries and team news
Tom Cairney and Aleksandar Mitrovic are the only two absentees for Fulham, with Josh Maja expected to start up front again ahead of Ademola Lookman, Bobby Cordova-Reid and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Sheffield United injuries and team news
John Fleck is expected to be absent again after missing the last match through illness, while John Egan is also out after being stretchered off in that defeat to West Ham. Phil Jagielka will stand in for Egan at the back.
