      Gais vs Brage Predictions

There are only six points and four places separating these two sides in the Swedish Superettan. Brage are higher up and look better equipped or at least better placed to mount a promotion push but with home advantage it is GAIS who are the favourites to win this Monday’s game. With both teams fairly positive going forward, it promises to be quite an open contest.

GAIS will be pretty disappointed with their season overall. They have hopes of getting back to the top flight and are one of the bigger clubs in this division having been crowned champions of Sweden four times. However they currently find themselves in 9th place, exactly where they finished last term and already they look too far back to mount a serious promotion challenge.

Brage though are only four points off the play-off place heading into this round of fixtures. They’d been in fantastic form, reeling off four straight wins but they suffered a very surprising defeat last time out. At home to bottom club Varnamo, who had just five points to their name going into the match, Brage inexplicably lost and there would have been some soul searching in their dressing room over the past seven days.

It’ll be interesting to see how they respond here in what should be a different kind of game. Both teams will feel they can win it, which should in part ensure we have a fairly open contest on our hands. GAIS are normally one of the more entertaining teams in this league to watch with 75% of their matches this term producing goals at both ends. A clean sheet ratio of just 6% is a major factor in why they aren’t doing better and strongly suggests the away team will get on the score-sheet here.

Brage aren’t exactly clean sheet experts either. They’ve managed just 1 clean sheet in their last 7 games, despite winning 5 of those matches. 62% of their games this term have seen both teams score and they’ve been involved in some really high scoring games of late. 2 of their last 3 have ended with 3-2 Brage wins while GAIS have 4-1 and 4-4 scorelines amongst their last 5 games.

Therefore backing Both Teams to Score looks the way to go here, a winning bet in all of GAIS’ last 8 league matches.
