Gent’s Losing Streak to Continue

Gent have a solid Europa League pedigree, but their season has been going downhill from the start and our predictions back it to get worse here.

Hoffenheim grabbed the headlines with a 4-1 hammering of Bayern Munich earlier this season but they’ve had it tough domestically since that. However, the visitors did win 2-0 over Red Star last week, with their Europa League hero on the scoresheet once again.

Since the start of the 2017/18 season, only Bruno Fernandes (22) has been directly involved in more UEFA Europa League goals than Hoffenheim’s Munas Dabbur (21 – 17 goals, 4 assists). However, Dabbur’s 17 goals are the most of any player in that time.

Gent lost their star striker Jonathan David in the summer and things have been going awfully for them since, with six defeats in their last seven games. They have been beaten in their last three European games this season and their weekend 2-1 loss to Genk points to problems for the hosts here.
