Ghana vs Comoros Predictions
- 12 of Ghana’s last 15 games have included fewer than three goals
- Comoros are on a run of four games in five containing less than three goals
- Ghana have not been knocked out at the group stages since 2006
Ghana to get important win
It has not been a strong start to the African Cup of Nations for Ghana, and anything other than a win here will ensure they are eliminated before the knock-out rounds for the first time in eight tournaments.
Milovan Rajevac’s side are well capable of winning this game. They drew 1-1 with Gabon last time out, that following a 1-0 defeat to Morocco in their opening group match, but have only lost three of their last ten.
Only two of those ten games included three or more goals, with three of their four victories during that time coming by a 1-0 scoreline.
History-making Comoros to go home empty-handed
Despite successive defeats at their first ever African Cup of Nations, Comoros can take plenty of pride from their opening two games, a 1-0 defeat to Gabon and a 2-0 loss at the hands of Morocco.
Goalkeeper Salim Ben Boina has been one of the stars of the tournament, yet while they have been incredibly resilient defensively, they clearly lack firepower at the other end of the field.
Indeed, despite a 7-1 victory over the Seychelles in a friendly in September, they have only scored more than one goal in one of their last 15 competitive fixtures.
I think this will be another game where Comoros battle heroically, but ultimately in defeat. I predict Ghana will win, with less than three goals in the game, selecting a 2-0 win as a correct score prediction.
