Montenegro to Win and Under 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

It has been another qualifying campaign to forget for Gibraltar, who have conceded 20 goals and scored only two while losing all of their six games. However, Montenegro have also endured an awful campaign, being eliminated with two games remaining, so while they should secure a rare victory, they are unlikely to blow Gibraltar away.

20/21odds when tipped

Montenegro 3-0

Reason for tip

With Gibraltar scoring just two goals in qualifying, a Montenegro clean sheet seems likely. The visitors have netted just four goals themselves, though, so three may be their limit, just as it was in March’s reverse fixture.

Gibraltar vs Montenegro Predictions

  • Gibraltar have lost their last eight games
  • Montenegro’s only win in six has been a narrow 2-1 win over minnow Liechtenstein
  • The Brave Falcons have failed to score in four straight qualifiers

Eliminated pair playing for nothing in Gibraltar

Drawn into a 2026 World Cup qualifying group alongside Croatia and Czech Republic, minnows Gibraltar were always going to be playing dead rubbers by this stage. Montenegro, however, will be massively disappointed to be in the same boat.

On paper, the Brave Falcons were the clear third-best side in the section and should still be battling with the Czechs for second – a woeful qualifying campaign means that is not the case at all as they trail surprise package the Faroe Islands.

Montenegro have lost their last four qualifiers to nil, being routed 4-0 by the Faroes last time, and are massively low on confidence.

Montenegro may struggle to blow hosts away

Mirko Vucinic’s side did win their last game but given that was a 2-1 friendly victory over Liechtenstein, a team who were beaten by San Marino 12 months ago, it is hard to see them running riot at the Europa Point Stadium.

Gibraltar have lost all of their qualifiers, conceding 20 goals and scoring just two in the process, so backing them to earn a point may be a bit strong, but they are unlikely to be embarrassed by a middling Montenegro.
