Greece vs Iceland Betting Tips & Predictions

There may be light at the end of the tunnel for Greece after a nightmare Euro 2016 qualifying campaign. A 2-1 friendly win at home to Montenegro last week may not sound like much for the side that were European Champions only 12 years ago but it does at least give them something to build from. They’ve lost twice to the Faroe Islands and once to Luxembourg since bowing out in the last 16 of the World Cup so another positive result here against a side that will be going to the Euros will help again give them a little more confidence about their chances going into World Cup 2018 qualifying in the Autumn.

Iceland are looking forward to making their tournament debuts in the summer in France but they may be starting to get a little concerned about their form. Since winning in Amsterdam back in September they have won just 1 of 9 matches which was effectively a B team international against Finland in January. They’ve lost 6 of those 9 including a 2-1 defeat to Denmark on Thursday night so they could really use a result here.

The visitors are normally good value for money though with goals almost always on offer. Both teams have scored in 5 of their last 6 matches and they play an attacking brand of football that they are unlikely to veer away from given it has got them to their first major championships in fairly comfortable fashion. One really telling statistic is that Iceland have scored at least once in 16 of their last 17 away internationals. They’ve conceded 17 goals in their last 8 fixtures though and with Greece looking a bit better, backing both teams to score at 11/10 really appeals here.
