Inter remain the team to beat in Serie A

Inter mean business in Serie A and they can give their title credentials another significant boost with a win over mid-table Lazio.

The Milan club missed out on top spot in their Champions League group with a 0-0 draw against Real Sociedad on Tuesday but they progressed to the last 16 nonetheless and their league form has been scintillating.

They left nothing to chance against Udinese last Saturday, easing to a 4-0 win, and they won 3-0 away to defending champions Napoli the weekend before.

Juventus are still snapping at their heels but Inter have barely put a foot wrong, scoring 37 goals and conceding only seven in their 15 league assignments to take the initiative in the title race.

Strugglers Lazio locked in mid-table obscurity

Lazio, meanwhile, have won just one of their last five games in Serie A and even that was against a lowly Cagliari side who had been reduced to ten men after 27 minutes.

They also struggled to make an impact in the Champions League on Wednesday night, losing 2-0 away to Atletico Madrid, meaning they too had to settle for second spot in Group E.

Lazio should therefore be opposed in this one and  Inter’s defensive resilience on the road points to a low-scoring win, so back a 2-0 victory for the visitors.
