Hamilton vs Hearts Predictions
Hamilton Academical couldn’t have had a worse day on Tuesday when they faced Scottish champions Celtic. They ran out 8-1 losers to the league leaders, a result which made it eight games without victory for the out of form side.
Six of these eight matches have ended in defeat for Hamilton, and they have only won one of their last 15 outings in all competitions.
This leaves the struggling side down in 10th in the Scottish Premiership, with only the dismal Dundee United holding fewer than their 24 points.
Hearts, unlike their opponents, were on the right end of a thrashing last weekend. They hammered Motherwell 6-0 at home to take their recent record to six games unbeaten.
In fact, Hearts have only lost one of their last 11 fixtures in all competitions, although their return of five wins does indicate they have a difficult finishing teams off.
This failure to win on so many occasions means they are effectively out of the race for the Scottish Premiership, although you can’t really considering that a failure considering they were only promoted from the second tier this season.
They sit in a impressive 3rd position with 40 points from their opening 22 games, nine fewer than 2nd placed Aberdeen and 12 off leaders Celtic. They do have an eight point cushion over 4th placed St Johnstone though.
Hearts won their home match against Hamilton 2-0 back in November, but lost 3-2 at Hamilton in August. However, those were better times for the hosts, and they come into this match having lost three home matches on the bounce and not won in seven.
I think Hearts will get the win on Sunday, and odds of 1/1 for an away victory look almost too good to be true considering Hamilton’s horrendous home form. I’m also going for a 2-0 correct score prediction at 9/1.
