Hearts vs Dundee United Predictions
Hearts did an incredible job at the beginning of the season considering they had just been promoted from the second tier.
They won all of their opening five Scottish Premiership matches and saw themselves above champions Celtic. But their form had to drop off at some point, and it came in the form of three straight defeats and just one win in six matches.
They did manage to get back to form though, and despite their recent issues with picking up three points they still find themselves in 3rd position in the Scottish Premiership.
Hearts’ 2-2 draw with Celtic on Sunday made it five games without a win for the 3rd placed side, and they remain ten points off leaders Celtic and nine off 2nd placed Aberdeen.
The home side will be fairly comfortable of getting back to winning ways on Wednesday though. They are coming up against a Dundee United side who have only picked up 10 points from their opening 19 league matches.
13 of these 19 games have ended in defeat for the bottom of the table side, and they already find themselves ten points adrift of any sort of safety in the table.
Dundee United’s last victory came on Halloween, and since then they have lost five and drawn two of their seven Premiership matches.
I can’t really see beyond a Hearts win here. Dundee United’s only points recently have come against fellow relegation candidates Inverness CT and Kilmarnock, and they will find themselves up against a much better side than either of those on Wednesday.
This makes odds of 3/4 for a Hearts Win look almost too good to be true, and I’ll be putting my money on that alongside a 2-0 correct score prediction at 7/1.
