PSV can start parade with three points in Heerenveen

A phenomenal campaign looks to be on course to have its perfect ending for Peter Bosz’s PSV Eindhoven side and three points – as well as the Eredivisie crown – should be coming their way when they take on Kees van Wonderen’s Heerenveen on Thursday.

PSV have won each of their last three games in the league, with two of these coming via emphatic margins against Vitesse Arnhem (6-0) and AZ Alkmaar (5-1), while Eindhoven also managed to register a shutout victory over Heerenveen in the reverse fixture at the Philips Stadion back in December (2-0).

De Superfriezen have struggled in the latter stages of this campaign, winning just one of their last six games and conceding at least twice in four of them, while just five teams have conceded more league goals than van Wonderen’s side (56).

Given their recent fragility in defence –  as well as PSV’s supreme domestic dominance this season – it is hard to see anything but another Heerenveen defeat in this encounter and, after losing 2-0 when these sides last met, a repeat scoreline could be on the cards.
