Hibernian vs Ross County Predictions
- Both teams have scored in Hibs’ last three starts in all competitions.
- Ross County netted in each of their final five games last term, scoring nine goals in total.
- The visitors scored three goals across the sides’ last two meetings in 2020/21.
Both teams to strike at Easter Road
Hibernian have made a pleasing start to the new campaign, though their early defensive displays suggest that we could see goals at both ends when they face off against Ross County at Easter Road this Sunday.
Jack Ross’ charges finished clear best of the rest behind the Old Firm last term, and they began their league season in thrilling fashion on the opening day with a 2-3 comeback success at Motherwell.
They’re rightfully favourites here to dispatch a Ross County side that finished tenth in 2020/21, though there are enough reasons to pass over Hibs in the 1X2 market at 1/2.
The hosts have only won four of their last ten SPL matches at Easter Road stretching back to last season (D2, L4), while they were also turned over 0-2 by Ross County here in late December.
While they got off to a winning start last weekend and remain in contention to reach the UEFA Conference League proper after a fair 1-1 draw with useful Croatian outfit HNK Rijeka in midweek, Hibs have conceded in each of their last three games which will offer encouragement to the visitors this Sunday.
With County netting three goals against Hibs across the sides’ last two meetings and bagging nine goals in their final five league games last term, we think both teams to score is the best wager for Sunday’s action at Easter Road, especially as Hibs may struggle to keep County out over the 90 minutes as they deal with another quick turnaround.
The hosts should edge matters though, and correct score backers are advised to go with a 2-1 result.
