Finnish side HJK host Motherwell in the first leg of this Conference League qualification tie. Both sides made easy work of their opponents in the previous round, with HJK beating Coleraine 8-0 on aggregate while Motherwell beat HB Torshavn 5-0 on aggregate. HJK know what it takes to get through these early rounds, having qualified for the league phase two years ago. However, Motherwell have fallen short in their attempts to qualify. In recent years, HJK are currently in the middle of their league campaign, however are doing poorly by their standards, currently sitting fourth when they’ve finished in the top three or better in the last six years, winning it on four occasions.  They’re also coming off a 3-0 loss to SJK, who are tenth. Motherwell kicked off their league campaign on Sunday and earned themselves an impressive 2-1 away win at Hibernian.
