Dinamo Zagreb To Win To Nil

      Reason for tip

Dinamo Zagreb got past Swiss champions Thun in the previous round of Champions League qualifiers, and if anything, a clash against Kauno Zalgiris looks a step down in class. This should be a comfortable success for the Croatians.

      Dinamo Zagreb 2-0

      Reason for tip

Kauno Zalgiris scored only once and hit just three shots on target across the two legs of their tie with Klaksvik and the Lithuanians are unlikely to trouble Dinamo Zagreb on hostile territory.

Dinamo Zagreb vs FK Kauno Zalgiris Predictions

      • Dinamo Zagreb have scored five goals in their last two matches
      • Kauno Zalgiris hit only three shots on target in the two legs of the second-round Champions League qualifier
      • Kauno Zalgiris scored only two goals in two qualifying matches against Klaksvik

Dinamo have opposition in their pocket

Dinamo Zagreb meet Kauno Zalgiris at the Maksimir Stadium in the first leg of their Champions League third-round qualifying tie and the home side are red-hot 1-6 favourites to take the advantage.

Dinamo needed extra-time to get past Thun, who had Marco Burki sent off midway through the second half, in the previous round of Champions League qualifiers but that narrow 4-3 success doesn’t tell the true story.

Mario Kovacevic’s men hit 32 efforts on goal, 15 corners and recorded 73 per cent possession in their second-leg tie with the Swiss champions and it was one-way traffic for much of last week’s contest.

Away from European competition, the Blues got their Croatian top-flight campaign off to a winning start with a 2-0 success over Slaven on Friday and Dinamo Zagreb have to rate as worthy strong favourites in this spot.

Kauno Zalgiris progressed past Klaksvik 1-0 on aggregate in the previous round of qualifiers, but the Lithuanians managed only seven shots and three efforts on target across the two legs of that second-round tie.

The Green and White will look to sit deep and make life difficult for Dinamo Zagreb, but the Belgrade boys know how to break down a defence and the Blues are set for a comfortable first-leg success.
