      Huddersfield vs Leeds Predictions

Leeds ended their long wait for a home win with victory over Cardiff at Elland Road in midweek. It was also a first win for new manager Steve Evans and it moved them above this Saturday’s opponents Huddersfield and into 17th.

The Terriers also picked up a good result in midweek though although they will have been a little disappointed to concede late on in a 2-2 draw at Reading. Somewhat surprisingly though manager Chris Powell was sacked following the game and they have appointed David Wagner as their new boss.

The German managed Borussia Dortmund II under new Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and amongst other things was Klopp’s best man at his wedding so clearly there is a strong bond between the pair and it will be interesting to see how this pans out. Perhaps worryingly he has no senior managerial experience though so it is certainly a gamble that Huddersfield have taken.

Uncertain times then at the John Smith’s Stadium but the crowd are always up for the visit of Leeds and this should be no different. Both these clubs have a bit of a cushion on the bottom 3 so there isn’t enormous pressure on either team at this stage and they’ll know that they could move into the relative comfort of mid-table with 3 points here.

It’s a tough game to call given Huddersfield are under new management and Leeds have been largely unimpressive but will have been boosted by that victory on Tuesday night and have only lost 1 of their 4 matches under Evans.

We should see goals at both ends in the clash though. Both teams have netted in all of Huddersfield’s last 3 matches, while Leeds tend to be more dangerous going forward away from home and both teams have netted in 5 of their last 6 away matches. You can back that to be the case again here at 5/6.

Neither are really prolific though and lack a little in the way of creativity so it is unlikely to turn into a goal-fest but a 1-1 draw looks a plausible outcome and can be backed at 5/1.
