Hungary vs Croatia Betting Tips & Predictions

Croatia have a talented squad of players and certainly have the potential to make at least the Quarter-Finals in France this summer. They’ve won all of their last 4 matches which includes an impressive friendly win in Russia in November and a 2-0 home win against Israel on Wednesday. They qualified alongside Italy in their group and drew 1-1 on two occasions against the Italians to cement themselves as certainly one of the strongest sides behind the elite group of 3 or 4 teams who are expected to compete for the title this summer.

Hungary are one of the rank outsiders for Euro 2016 but at least they will be there after a long absence from championship football. They finished 3rd in a fairly weak group behind Northern Ireland and Romania but were impressive in the play-offs when they won both legs against Norway to secure a 3-1 aggregate win. This is their first match since then and their first friendly in 9 months. They only have 1 other friendly scheduled prior to the Euros and that is against Germany so they’ll be keen for a good result here although it is likely to be tough.

There is certainly much more quality in the Croatia squad. The visitors can rely upon players from the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus whereas Hungary are without a genuine big name but have displayed they are a decent unit on their day. Croatia have an outstanding away record in friendly matches though. They have only lost 1 of their last 21 away friendlies and that was against Argentina and they’ve beaten the likes of Italy and Belgium on the road during that period. Therefore consider backing Croatia to win 2-1 at 8/1.
