Friday’s Nations League B clash between Hungary and Ukraine at the Puskas Arena in Budapest could be a key clash in the promotion battle from this batch of four.

Northern Ireland and Georgia complete Group B2 and they shouldn’t be written off, but Hungary and Ukraine are clearly the stronger sides.

Ukraine’s only road win in World Cup qualifying came in Azerbaijan and they are in mixed form in general with two defeats in their last four.

The visitors are without star forward Artem Dovbyk due to injury and that will impact their chances but they should still be able to at least strike in defeat. A 2-1 Hungary win is the pick as Ukraine have only failed to score in two of their last 12 games and they drew both of those blanks against France, while Hungary have conceded in their last two home games and three of their last four wins have been by one-goal margins.

Roland Sallai has struggled for goals for club side Galatasaray but has still been putting in some solid displays. Sallai has 15 goals in 67 games for Hungary and can add to his international haul on Friday.
