PSG can overpower Lyon at Parc des Princes

Paris Saint Germain suffered a setback in their title charge when they lost 2-0 to Rennes last time out but their lead at the top of Ligue 1 remains seven points and they are still the likeliest winners of the French top tier.

However their defence has not been as mean as in previous years and in fact two teams have superior defensive records than the Parisians. That has been true both home and away, three of their last four Ligue 1 games in their own back yard have seen them win and both sides score.

With his side out of the Champions League, Christophe Galtier needs to win the title to have any chance of keeping his job in the summer and he cannot afford a major downturn in form.

As a result, his team need to take all three points from this match against Lyon.

Lyon midtable fodder

Lyon have had a disappointing season and are languishing in midtable as a result, they will need to turn some of their draws into wins if they are to chase down the European places.
