Champions return to Ligue 1 action

After sweeping Liverpool aside in the defence of the Champions League title, Paris Saint-Germain turn their attention back to Ligue 1 matters with a home game against Lyon on Sunday.

Luis Enrique’s side continue to roll on with six straight victories in all competitions, each of which was won by more than one goal. They should secure another comfortable three points against an out-of-sorts Lyon side that have dropped out of the title race after winning only one of their last seven league games.

Pailo Fonseca’s side sit in fifth after clinching a much-needed 2-0 home win over Lorient last weekend. Star striker Endick had a hand in both goals, but he failed to fire on Lyon’s last away trip – a 0-0 draw with Angers.

Lyon must look to PSG’s team play

Les Gones have some high-quality individuals, but struggle to put it together as a team. PSG are the perfect example of how it should be done and they are likely to prevail in this fixture for a seventh time in a row.

The Parisians have won the last two meetings at Parc des Princes 3-1 and 4-1, which adds further fuel to the feeling that they can beat Lyon with a bit to spare. Back the hosts to cover a -1 handicap at a shade of odds on as Lyon are not quite in Liverpool’s class and PSG managed to grab two 2-0 wins over the Premier League side recently.

This bet is preferred over a win to nil because of Lyon’s individual brilliance, which may be able to muster up a goal. But Fonseca’s side have failed to score in their last two away trips, so take a 3-0 correct score play.
