Italy vs Bulgaria Betting Tips

Three straight wins at the beginning of Euro 2016 qualifying put Italy in the driving spot of Group H from the start.

Their first bump in the road was a home match against Croatia, which they drew 1-1. They then went on to draw against Bulgaria away from home and draw against Croatia again.

They got back to winning ways on Thursday though when they played Group H minnows Malta, although a 1-0 victory at home to the bottom of the group team was far from impressive.

This win, coupled with the trio of draws and a friendly loss to Portugal makes it just one win from Italy’s last five games.

Despite this relatively poor run of form Italy are still leading the group. They have 15 points from their first seven games, one point more than 2^nd placed Croatia, who play against 3^rd placed Norway on Sunday.

Depending on this result, Italy could either end the weekend at the top of the group or down in 3^rd position, which highlights the importance of the next three games in Group H.

Bulgaria are down in 4^th position in the group, trailing Norway by five points. They could move to within two points of the vital playoff qualification spot if results go their way on Sunday.

Bulgaria’s eight points have come from wins away to Azerbaijan and Malta, a draws at home to Malta and Italy.

They were close to winning their home match against Italy as well. It took until the 84^th minute for Eder to snatch the equaliser for Italy in the 2-2 draw.

This draw made it three home draws in a row for Bulgaria when facing Italy, but they have lost all of their four away games to them.

Bulgaria have been struggling to score recently, with their sole goal from the last three games coming against Malta. Add that inability in front of goal to an Italy side with an affinity for 1-0 wins, odds of 21/20 for Italy to Win to Nil look to offer some value.
