Juventus vs Inter Milan Predictions
Having lost at the death against Tottenham, thanks to an audacious long-range effort from Harry Kane, Juventus will be looking to kick-start their pre-season campaign by beating Serie A rivals Inter, who also come into this match off the back of a defeat.
Despite being sent off as odds-on favourites, Juventus were unable to come up with the goods against Spurs on Sunday. They did end up with the majority share in possession, while they weren’t exactly overpowered by the English side, though they failed to dominate as their price-tag suggested they would.
While Juventus lost out against Spurs, Inter were edged out by Man United. However, unlike Juve, who despite not dominating, probably deserved a share of the spoils, I Nerazzurri were deservedly beaten. Antonio Conte’s men took a defensive approach, which prevented them from ever really controlling the game, while it also hampered their ability to get forward and create chances. In just over 90 minutes of football, Inter registered only a single shot on target. In contrast, they allowed their opponents to rack up no less than eight shots on target. Such numbers don’t exactly bode well ahead of this match.
Inter may fancy themselves to do better against Italian opposition, though their record against the Old Lady isn’t exactly impressive. Inter have won none of their last five matches against Juventus, while they haven’t beaten the current Serie A champions away from San Siro since 2012. Between then and now, Inter have lost five out of eight away from the comforts of home.
From a betting point of view, ‘Juventus to Win & Under 2.5 Goals’ catches the eye. Juventus were breached three times by Spurs, though they ought to fair much better defensively against a less capable Inter side that will almost certainly adopt a more cautious approach.
If we consider both the recent ICC efforts of this pair and their efforts against each other in recent times, backing Juventus, who’ve recorded wins in four of the last five renewals away from San Siro, only one of which saw more than two goals go in, to record a relatively low-scoring victory looks like the best option for punters looking to get involved in this all-Italian clash.
