Hearts 2-1

Reason for tip

It has been tense at Tynecastle as Hearts have won back-to-back home games 1-0, but this match could feature a few more goals. The Jambos are averaging almost two goals per game on the road but have been opened up by the likes of St Mirren and Rangers, so a 2-1 win could be on the cards. Killie have conceded multiple goals in four of their last five games.

Kilmarnock vs Hearts Predictions

  • Kilmarnock have lost their last five home games against top-eight teams
  • Hearts have won four of their last seven away Premiership matches
  • The Jambos have won four of their last six trips to Rugby Park

Killie’s struggles continue

Hearts head to Rugby Park on Saturday night looking to maintain their grip on top spot in the Scottish Premiership, and the league leaders are fancied to come through a tricky assignment against a Kilmarnock side fighting for survival.

Killie’s turbulent campaign continued with a heavy 5-1 defeat away to Falkirk last weekend, extending their winless run to three matches and leaving them second from bottom. Neil McCann’s side have managed only two wins in their last 22 league outings — both at home — but 15 defeats in that period underline the scale of their struggle.

Their overall home record of three wins, three draws and eight losses suggests Rugby Park offers no guarantees and, although they did hold Hearts to a 1-1 draw at Tynecastle earlier in the season, the visitors look primed to take the points.

Jambos back on track

Hearts have steadied themselves after back‑to‑back away defeats to St Mirren and Rangers. Derek McInnes’ men responded with consecutive 1-0 home wins over Falkirk and Aberdeen to reassert their title credentials, and they remain five points clear with nine games to go.

The Jambos will again be without Lawrence Shankland and Cammy Devlin, but Oisin McEntee returns and the squad retains enough depth to cope. McInnes has warned against complacency, acknowledging Killie are “fighting tooth and nail”, but Hearts’ superior quality and defensive resilience should see them edge a tight encounter, possibly in another 1-0.
