LA Galaxy vs Colorado Rapids Predictions
Both LA Galaxy and their guests on Monday night Colorado Rapids head into the match in the midst of losing streaks. Admittedly, LA Galaxy’s three game losing run is much less severe than Colorado Rapids’ eight defeats on the run, but both team’s confidences will no doubt have taken a hit over the last few weeks. Colorado Rapids are still searching for their first win of the new season, having picked up just two points from their eleven matches, but have managed to claim a draw and a win from their last two games against LA Galaxy.
Even with Ibrahimovic up front, LA Galaxy looked lame in the final third at home to New York City last weekend, going down to two late first half goals from Heber and Moralez. The hosts managed just one shot on target during the ninety minutes, but are bound to create more chances against the MLS’s current worst team on Monday. Colorado Rapids went two goals down at home to Real Salt Lake, but did mange to pull a goal back before the break through Acosta and then equalised early in the second half via Wilson. However, their guests restored the lead shortly after and Colorado Rapids couldn’t dig out a response, so another game ended in defeat.
The head to head record between these two clubs and their performances in the MLS over the lat month or so, all points towards a win for LA Galaxy with both teams to score. Five of the last six encounters between the two sides have seen both teams score, and both teams have scored in four of LA Galaxy’s and five of Colorado Rapid’s last six matches. LA Galaxy have won two of their last three home games, while Colorado Rapids have lost each of their last eight matches in the MLS, which is why we’re backing LA Galaxy to return to winning ways and for the scoreline to end 4-2 on Monday.
Ibrahimović has scored nine times in the MLS for LA Galaxy this season, and will want to have a much better game than he did last time out against New York City. Kamara has scored seven goals for Colorado Rapids this season, which must be frustrating for the forward who is yet to see his team win a game. We’re confident that LA Galaxy will win and that both teams will score in the process, and have predicted a final score of 4-2. The hosts have goals in them and their guests have a very generous defence, which has conceded seventeen goals in it’s last six matches. The recent history between these two teams suggests we will see plenty of goalmouth action on Monday night, and for us there can only be one winner.
