LA Galaxy can make home advantage count against out-of-sorts DC

LA Galaxy have been in form at home, winning their last two MLS games, and they should be backed to beat DC United.

DC United have seven points more than LA Galaxy, but their record is poor – four wins, seven draws and ten defeats for the visitors, while the hosts have just two wins so far, with six draws and 13 losses.

The visitors’ recent form has been dodgy, with DC United not winning in four MLS games and suffering three defeats in that run. They have won just once in their last ten matches.

DC United have been disappointing in front of goal away from home this season, scoring eight goals in nine games – an average of 0.89 goals a game on the road. They have been kept at bay in four of their last five MLS away games.

The visitors have looked vulnerable in defence, failing to keep a clean sheet in six of their last seven MLS games. DC United have been struggling defensively away from home this season, conceding 21 goals in nine road games – an average of 2.33 goals per game.

A 2-0 win for LA Galaxy looks a decent correct-score option.

DC United have suffered three 2-0 losses in MLS this season and, while the hosts have just two wins so far, four of LA Galaxy’s last six games had fewer than three goals.
