Lahti vs HJK Helsinki Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

It may still be pretty early in the Veikkausliiga season but already HJK Helsinki have made their mark on the division and they look all set to add yet another league trophy to their rapidly growing selection. However, standing in their way this Friday is a trip to an FC Lahti side who have proven to be very difficult to break down for much of the campaign and given that the hosts conquered HJK when they last met, we may be in for quite a contest.

After being bitten when the sides met back in May, however, we do not expect there to be any complacency in the HJK squad and we fully expect them to go on and claim all three points as they lay a marker for the rest of the division. The hosts have managed to find the back of the net just 15 times this season, a record which is the joint second worst in the Veikkausliiga.

HJK are undefeated on their travels this season having won six and drawn the other three of their away matches so far and as the division’s most efficient offensive unit, it is easy to see why. However, their defensive capabilities should not be underestimated either as they didn’t concede any goal in 56% of their away matches and they have managed to win 41% of their fixtures in the league to nil this season.
