Lyon can boost top four hopes

Lyon should be backed to beat an out-of-form Le Havre at Stade Oceane on Sunday.

They are ten places and 20 points above Le Havre in the table. The hosts are 14th with six wins from their 25 games, while Lyon, who have won 14 of their 25 matches, sit fourth.

Le Havre lost 2-0 to Brest last weekend in their last Ligue 1 outing and could not break their losing run. They have now lost ten of the 12 games this season in which they’ve shipped the first goal (83%). Le Havre didn’t manage to get a shot on target.

Le Havre are in a slump, having lost four of their last six Ligue 1 matches and were trailing at the break in all of those defeats. They have gone three games without recording a victory.

The hosts’ struggles in front of goal are a major concern. Le Havre have not found the net in their last three Ligue 1 matches and have been unable to score in five of their last seven league games.

The hosts look vulnerable at the back. Le Havre have failed to keep a clean sheet in 12 of their last 14 Ligue 1 games and it’s been three home games since they last kept out their opponents, with their last clean sheet coming against Monaco in January.

A 2-0 away win for Lyon looks a decent correct-score option. There have been under 2.5 goals in Le Havre’s last three Ligue 1 games and two of those have ended in 2-0 losses.
