Verona’s losing run to continue

Lecce should be backed to get a home win over Verona on Saturday. The visitors have lost three of their last four away games in Serie A and could be heading for another defeat here.

Lecce are 15th in Serie A, four places and four points above Verona, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. Lecce have won two and lost five of their ten games, while Verona are still searching for their first win.

Verona could not break their losing habit last time, going down 2-1 to Inter at home last weekend. They struggled to impose themselves on the game, having just 27.3% possession, and the result was no surprise with Inter priced at 2/5 to win.

Backing Verona’s opponents during their current run of four defeats in six Serie A games would have resulted in a profit of 1.26 units.

Their current form is underwhelming. They have lost four of their last six Serie A matches and are without a win in ten games. On the road, they have failed to win eight of their last nine away games.

The visitors have been disappointing up front this season. Verona have failed to score in three of their last four Serie A away games, and have just two goals in five matches on the road.

The Verona back line has been struggling this season. No team has shipped more goals in Serie A than the 16 goals they have conceded, and they have failed to keep a clean sheet in 15 of their last 18 league games.

A 2-0 win for Lecce looks the best correct-score bet. The last Serie A head-to-head ended 1-1 but at least one of the teams did not score in six of the last seven, and two of Verona’s five losses this season have been by two goals.
