Leeds vs Arsenal Predictions
- Both teams have scored in eight of Leeds’ last nine league matches.
- Arsenal have lost two of their 11 Premier League away games this term.
- The Gunners have not lost to Leeds in their last 15 meetings.
Arsenal need to get back in the groove
Arsenal completed their eight league-phase matches in the Champions League with a perfect record, but there have been a few slip-ups lately that have led many of their followers to be nervous about them staying the course in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s side suffered a setback on Sunday when they lost 3-2 at home to Manchester United, and while the Gunners still enjoy a three-point lead, they will want to get their act together as soon as possible.
Keeping things tight at the back will be the priority but they have kept two clean sheets in their last 11 matches, so that is far from guaranteed, especially against a Leeds side who have completed plenty of hard work in the last few weeks to have a great chance of staying up.
Leeds should provide a tough test
Daniel Farke’s outfit can look back on an excellent couple of months where they have lost just once and that defeat came at Newcastle where they were sunk by two injury-time goals in a 4-3 thriller.
It is not as if they have had a soft schedule either. The Whites have beaten Chelsea and Crystal Palace while gained two draws against Liverpool and another against Manchester United, so everyone at Elland Road will be delighted they enjoyed a six-point gap from the drop zone at the start of the weekend.
The Whites have scored in all but one of their last 13 games – a goalless draw at Anfield – and there looks a strong chance both teams will score in this one.
Arsenal probably have the edge, so correct-score enthusiasts are pointed towards a 2-1 win for the visitors, but Arteta’s side should definitely know they have been in a game.
Gyokeres is finding his feet
Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres has had a difficult time in north London since arriving in the summer, but there are signs that the Swede has finally found his feet.
The former Sporting Lisbon forward has found the net just three times in the league since netting a brace in August’s 5-0 win over Leeds, but with goals in the EFL Cup semi-final clash with Chelsea and his last two Champions League games against Inter and Kairat Almaty, so he can make his mark again on Saturday.
