Leeds vs Cardiff Predictions
Given longevity and Leeds managers are hardly things that go together with the trigger-happy Massimo Cellino in charge, Steve Evans may already be beginning to start to sweat a little having failed to win any of his first 3 matches in charge, the last of which was a disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Blackburn.
Leeds are just looking very short in the final third and may struggle to break down a solid Cardiff defence in this game. They have only scored one goal from open play in their last 6 matches and have failed to score in 3 of their last 4 matches at Elland Road, where they haven’t won in 8 months since a 2-1 victory over Ipswich in early March.
Luckily for Leeds Cardiff are also going through a spell where they are finding it incredibly difficult to score goals but more worryingly for the hosts, they are also very strong at the back. In the last 4 matches involving Cardiff, there has only been 1 goal and it was an own goal scored by Middlesbrough’s George Friend.
Given all that odds of 5/6 on at least one of these teams failing to net in this fixture look incredibly generous.
In terms of picking a winning you have to veer more towards the Welsh club than the hosts. Given how bad Leeds are at home and with the club seemingly in disarray both on and off the pitch, it’s likely to get worse before it gets better for the Leeds fans, who are looking to buy up Cellino’s stake in the club.
Cardiff are having a pretty good season and on the back of 4 consecutive clean sheets will fancy they can win this with just 1 goal and at 7/1, a 1-0 away win certainly appeals.
