Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in six consecutive Leeds games overall and at home they have scored in seven of their eight league games. Crystal Palace have the best away record in the league and have scored 11 goals across their eight trips, only failing to score at Arsenal, so both of these teams look capable of getting on the scoresheet.

Crystal Palace 2-1

Reason for tip

Leeds are on a three-game unbeaten run but they’ve needed late goals to secure draws in their last two games and could come unstuck against Palace, who have won their last three Premier League away games. With goals at both ends expected, a 2-1 win for the Eagles has a chance as the Londoners haven’t scored more than twice in any league away game since a 3-0 win at Aston Villa back in August.

Eddie Nketiah To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Eddie Nketiah has two goals in his last two starts and he should be involved from the off on Saturday after featuring as a late substitute against KuPS. Nketiah, who had three shots in just 13 minutes against the Finnish outfit, looks a contender for an anytime effort at Elland Road.

Leeds vs Crystal Palace Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in six consecutive Leeds games.
  • Palace have the best road record in the division with 16 points from eight trips.
  • The Eagles have conceded in five of their last seven games across all competitions.

Expect entertainment at Elland Road

Leeds have found a bit of form with five points from their last three games but they face a tough test in one of two late games on Saturday as they host Crystal Palace at Elland Road.

Leeds’ three-game unbeaten run has included games against Chelsea and Liverpool, claiming three points against the Blues and playing out a thrilling 3-3 draw with the champions. Daniel Farke’s side will be confident they can get a positive result on Saturday but they are facing the league’s best travellers.

Palace have a quick turnaround as they played were held to a 2-2 draw by Finland’s KuPS in the Conference League on Thursday. That may put them at a disadvantage but it shouldn’t be a huge issue either, as boss Oliver Glasner opted for wholesale changes in that European game with a few of his experienced players featuring as second half substitutes.

Both teams to score the starting point

Palace’s away record suggests they can come away from Yorkshire with maximum points, despite Leeds’ recent upturn in form, but the better angle for our main bet is probably backing goals at both ends.

Both teams have scored in each of Leeds’ last six games and it has been 13 games since they last kept a clean sheet, while the Whites have only failed to score themselves in one of their eight home games.

Crystal Palace have the best away record in the Premier League with 16 points from eight trips. The Eagles have scored 11 goals across those games and have only failed to score at Arsenal – who have the league’s best defence. Palace have kept a couple of clean sheets away lately but those shut-outs have come at struggling pair Burnley and Wolves and they may find it harder to keep the Leeds attack quiet.

Palace can leave with the spoils

Leeds come into this game after back-to-back draws but they needed a late leveller at Brentford last time out, while prior to that they fought back from 2-0 down and 3-2 to claim a point against Liverpool.

Palace lost 3-0 at home to Manchester City last weekend but the scoreline probably wasn’t a fair reflection of their performance. The south Londoners have won their last three away games in the Premier League and they look capable of grinding out a victory here despite the quick turnaround. With goals at both ends expected, a 2-1 win for Palace is the pick as they haven’t scored more than twice in any league away game since a 3-0 win at Aston Villa back in August.

Eddie Nketiah has two goals in his last two starts and he should be involved from the off on Saturday after featuring as a late substitute against KuPS. Nketiah, who had three shots in just 13 minutes against the Finnish outfit, looks a contender for an anytime effort at Elland Road.
