Legia Warsaw vs Club Brugge Predictions
The Belgians have endured a torrid time of it in European competition so far. They suffered a crushing 7-1 loss to Manchester United in the Champions League play-off round and it hasn’t gone any better in this competition.
A 5-0 defeat at Napoli and a 3-1 home loss to Midtjylland last time out means they have conceded 15 goals in their last 4 matches in Europe and they are bottom of this group coming into this double-header with Legia Warsaw.
The Poles are also without a point also but have at least pushed the other two sides a little closer and both Legia and Brugge will know that defeat in this game would all but end their hopes of making the knock-out stage.
Brugge have been so poor of late that it’s hard to fancy them against anyone but weak sides in their own league. They were hammered 4-1 by Gent in their last away match prior to an unconvincing 1-0 home win against Oostende.
Legia are unbeaten in their last 8 matches domestically and have won 7 of their last 9 games at Warsaw’s Pepsi Arena in the Europa League including all of their home group matches in last year’s competition so they’ll be confident of picking up 3 points here and you can back them to do so at Evens.
They are rarely big winners though and most of those victories were by just a single goal. They don’t possess the same quality that Napoli or Manchester United do to take advantage of Brugge defensive lapses so it should be fairly close and they are worth backing at 15/2 to win 2-1.
