Tip Reasoning

  • Leicester have seen both teams score in seven of their last eight competitive games.
  • Both teams have scored in eight of the last ten meetings between these sides.
  • Leicester have drawn three of their last six fixtures, with two of them being 1-1 scorelines.

Rotation expected for Foxes

Brendan Rodgers is expected to heavily rotate his Leicester side on Saturday as he keeps one eye firmly trained on their Europa Conference League clash with Roma and that should allow Aston Villa a chance to end their recent losing run.

The Foxes have hit form at just the right time and while they have very little left to play for in the Premier League they will definitely want to maintain some semblance of momentum as they target victory in the inaugural Europa Conference League.

A 1-1 draw at Everton last time out makes it just one defeat in their last seven competitive games, and even that came in the very last moments of their trip to Tyneside last weekend. However, they continue to struggle defensively and that will be something Villa will want to take advantage of.

Villa in limbo

Aston Villa find themselves in a similar limbo in the league, well clear of the relegation zone but meandering towards a disappointing bottom-half finish.

Their 4-0 drubbing at home to Spurs last time out made it four successive defeats and they have only won four times in all competitions since Christmas.

Like their hosts, Villa tend to struggle at the back and have conceded 22 goals in their last 15 games, keeping just four clean sheets.

Struggling back lines to come under pressure

With both sides in turmoil defensively and eight of the last ten clashes between these sides featuring goals at both ends, backing both teams to score appeals as a main prediction.

Leicester are the superior team at the moment but the expected shuffle in the lineup should give the visitors plenty of chances to take a point. Three of Leicester’s last six in all competitions have ended all square, and with two of those being 1-1 scorelines that’s my pick for a correct score.

Leicester predicted lineup: Schmeichel; Justin, Fofana, Soyuncu, Thomas; Mendy, Tielemans, Dewsbury-Hall; Perez, Lookman, Daka

Aston Villa predicted lineup: Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Mings, Young; Luiz, McGinn, Ramsey, Coutinho; Ings, Watkins

  • Both teams have scored in five of the last seven Premier League meetings between these sides
  • Three or more goals has been a feature of Aston Villa’s last three away games in the Premier League
