Reason For Leicester City vs Aston Villa Predictions

  • Leicester have conceded at least two goals in each of their last four competitive games.
  • Aston Villa have scored 11 goals in their three Premier League games this season.
  • Leicester could be without first choice centre back pairing Jonny Evans and Caglar Soyuncu here.
  • Ollie Watkins has scored in three of his six competitive appearances for Villa and netted a hat-trick last time out.

Foxes injury list grows

Leicester were brought crashing back down to earth before the international break as they followed a stunning 5-2 victory at Manchester City with a dismal 3-0 defeat at home to West Ham.

While they have been given some time to mentally recover from this defeat, the international break has not been kind to them otherwise. Key centre back pair Caglar Soyuncu and Jonny Evans both picked up injuries on international duty, which is a major blow to a side already struggling at the back.

Indeed, the Foxes have conceded seven goals in their last three Premier League games and now face the prospect of coming up against a resurgent Aston Villa outfit.

Watkins and Grealish make waves for Villa

The Villains were quite incredible in their 7-2 demolition of reigning Premier League champions Liverpool last time out, with Jack Grealish and Ollie Watkins putting in spectacular performances and scoring five goals between them.

Watkins in particular is looking a fantastic summer signing for the pre-season relegation candidates. He has scored in three of his six games for Villa and, fresh from his hat-trick against Liverpool, he looks a great price to find the net on Sunday.

Apart from being an incredible achievement in itself, that win over Liverpool continued Aston Villa’s perfect winning start to this season’s league campaign. They have scored ten goals in their last two games and will fancy their chances against a depleted and out-of-form Leicester defence.

Leicester defence to come under pressure

The Foxes have conceded at least two goals in each of their last four competitive matches, and with the first choice centre backs major doubts and Grealish and Watkins firing on all cylinders we like the look of Aston Villa over 1.5 team goals.

We’re also backing the Villains to pull off another shock on Sunday. Leicester have lost their last two home games in all competitions and their injury problems won’t help matters, so we’re opting for a 2-1 correct score prediction at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester injuries and team news

Wilfred Ndidi and Ricardo Pereira remain sidelined along with Filip Benkovic, while a host of names are fighting for fitness ahead of this clash.

James Maddison is expected to make the grade but Dennis Praet is less optimistic and Daniel Amartey is expected to miss out. Wesley Fofana may be thrown straight into the starting lineup with Soyuncu and Evans major doubts, while Cengiz Under is also in line for a Foxes debut.

Aston Villa injuries and team news

Aston Villa are one of the few clubs that made it through the international break with no new injury problems. Wesley is still on the sidelines though, while Thomas Heaton is regaining his fitness after his injury layoff.

Bjorn Engels and Kortney Hause are the only other doubts, with Dean Smith in line to name an unchanged starting lineup after their thrashing of Liverpool.
