Expect entertainment at the King Power
Ruud van Nistelrooy enjoyed a perfect start after taking charge of Leicester with a 3-1 win over West Ham but following that up with a result against Brighton looks a big ask.
The Seagulls sit in fifth spot, 10 points above their hosts, and are the clear favourites to win but the obvious betting angle here is both teams to score, even at a short price.
There have been goals at both ends in seven of Leicester’s last eight games and they have scored in all of those. The Foxes are yet to draw a blank at home in any competitions and have managed just one clean sheet in the league at the King Power.
Brighton are also a good team for both teams to score backers to keep an eye on. There have been goals at both ends in Albion’s last seven games across all competitions, they have scored themselves in 13 of their 14 league games and have conceded in five of their seven Premier League trips.
Seagulls can leave with the spoils
It is always hard to judge how a team will respond under a new manager but the early signs are positive after their 3-1 win over West Ham last time out. However, they perhaps rode their luck a bit in that midweek game and they conceded plenty of chances but the Hammers could take advantage.
Brighton are a slicker outfit than West Ham and they were themselves unlucky in midweek in a 3-1 loss at Fulham. Albion have won at Bournemouth and Newcastle recently, and they may be able to end their two-game winless run at Leicester.
I’m going for a 3-1 win for the visitors, potentially with a late goal to kill the game off, as Leicester have conceded at least three goals in four of their last seven games – while West Ham had 10 shots on target despite scoring just once on Tuesday.
The value lies with the home squad in the anytime scorer market and with Leicester expected to score it makes sense to look at their players for an anytime goal. Jamie Vardy was on target against West Ham and now has three goals and two assists in his last six appearances, so back the Foxes veteran to add to his haul for the season.
